Humans have the ability to see things in color

I read somewhere that some women have four sets of cones (or was it rods) in the eye instead of the normal three, and that their sense of color is far keener than the normal--but: their sons have a chance of inheriting overlapping, say, green sets, and coming out at least partly colorblind. So you have a very visually gifted mom with a kid who can't see it her way at all.

  2. My nephew is colorblind, and it drove his mother nuts when he couldn't learn his colors. One quote when he was little: "Purple is hard."

    Of course, so is green. He loves his blues, though!
