TALE OF A TAIL

I can't speak for other species, but in the parrot family, when the birds start to moult, the new feathers first grow in underneath. Then when the old feathers come off, the new ones are already in place. Usually. Somehow Pepper managed to break off her new tail, and she looked quite the bob-tail. How embarrassing!

So we waited to watch another new one come in.

Ah, starting to grow!

Well, at least it's on the move.

Ah, a bit longer.

Looks a trifle scroungy, but getting there.

Well, now, that's looking pretty good.

And there she is, in all her glory!

Fun -

This is about the doctor who, after a long hard day at the office, would stop at his favorite bar for his favorite drink, a daiquiri, with a bit of nutmeg sprinkled on the top. This particular day, when the doctor came in, the bartender noticed that he was out of nutmeg, so he ground up a bit of hickory nut to sprinkle on the drink. When he served it, the doctor took one sip and asked, "Now what's this?" Answered the bartender, "That's a hickory daiquiri, doc."

See you on Monday.
