OVER THE CLIFF

Cliff Conn is no more.

Meet Cliff Meyer.

When Amalie and I asked Cliff back in the 90’s if he would like us to adopt him (Yes), and did he want to use our name (No), we didn’t argue with him.  His choice.  Then in July this year Cliff quite surprised me by saying he would like to change his name to Meyer.  I had no objections, and he did all the paper work, which included taking out a legal ad in the local paper for 4 weeks in a row.

Now it is official.  Now if someone calls and asks for Clifford Conn, I suppose I’ll say, “Who?”  On the other hand, if someone calls and asks for Mr. Meyer, we can say “Which one?”

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
(Written by kids)

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?

(1) It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?

(1) There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?

   And the #1 Favorite is....

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?

Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.

  1. Cliff adopted you back. He's a good one. And you're both very very fortunate.

Thought you'd like that Flying Fingers bus! See what happens when you hang around knitters long enough?

  2. On the subject of "which one", back in elementary school a friend of a friend wanted her unlisted number and called my house and asked to speak with me, "Lynn." My mom's answer was "Which one?" And stunned (as she didn't know our family) she replied "There's more than one?!" Well, there's my Dad and brother both named "Len". HA! To complicated things a bit more, I might have mentioned my brother married a woman also named Lynn. If I ever revert to my maiden name, I'd really complicate things!

  3. @LynnM: that's as bad as friends of mine growing up whose parents named them Christopher and Christine and called them both Chris!
