SAGA OF THE SORRY SPECTACLES

You’ve already heard about the previous problems with my new

glasses -- the cracked lens, the canceled order, the time it took to get replacements.

Now, on with the story.  My replaced lens finally showed up at the opticians about a week ago.  Great.  The lenses were ground to fit my frames, and then fitted to my face.  Good?  Uh, nooo.  Well, try them for a couple of weeks and see if you get used to them.  Ahh, ok.

Only one week later they were driving me nuts!  Close-up vision is all right, but for distance, I couldn’t bring anything into focus.  Back to the optician.  Are you seeing double?  Umm, yeah.  Well go back to your opthamologist and tell them you want a recheck.

So now I have a recheck appointment for next week.  I may get to wear these things before I need my next eye exam (or have my head examined).

Humor --

One Sunday a minister played hooky from church so he could play a round of golf.  St. Peter, looking down from Heaven, asked, “Lord, you’re going to let him get away with this?”  The Lord shook his head.  The minister took his first shot which soared through the air 420 yards, and landed in the cup for a hole-in-one.  St. Peter war outraged!  “I thought you were going to punish him!”  The Lord shrugged.  “Who’s he going to tell?”

  1. Eye think those glasses aren't all they're cracked up to be.
