ROGER IN PATAGONIA

Before he retired, Roger Emanuels was a cellist for the old San Jose Symphony, and its successor, Symphony Silicon Valley.  In addition, he taught cello and taught a class in music appreciation, which Amalie and I attended from time to time.

When he went on vacation, he traveled to Chile. Specifically, he liked an area called Patagonia. One time in class, instead of talking about music, he showed us some slides of Patagonia. It is a remarkably beautiful country, and he allowed me to make a disk of the photos.   From that disk I collected nearly 5 dozen photographs to show you, but not all at once.  At any rate, here’s a beginning.

First, let us know that Patagonia is that boxed in area in Chile.

Angelmó is a small bay at the west end of Puerto Montt (about 2km from the center of the city). Its name comes from when the local indigenous people mispronounced a local doctor's name called Angel Montt when the area was just started to be populated.

Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Oooh, that looks tasty!

Distance as the crow flies between Chanquin and Chile's capital Santiago is approximately 662 miles.

Chonchi is a Chilean town and commune located in the Los Lagos Region.

Apparently Huildad is a small town on Huildad Fjord.

Fun -

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."

Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.

A dyslexic man walked into a bra.

A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm, and says: "A beer please, and one for the road.."

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?"
