Russ Louthian has said that his favorite holiday is Halloween. For many years now he has transformed his own house into a scary, ghoulish place of horror. I did go there one year and it was truly scary, especially if you’re a little kid. But then I know that Russ likes a good joke, especially if it’s on the unsuspecting.

He attracts a big following each year. Several hundred trick-or-treaters come around to be scared by his presentation, and of course this year was no exception.

So let me show you just a few of the horrors that Russ had in store for his visitors. Mind you, these photos were taken in broad daylight, and therefore don’t elicit the amount of fear that will come as darkness falls.  So as you gather around your computer monitor, be prepared!

One of my favorites.

Kinda hung up

What does R I P stand for? Rest in pieces?

 Jailed for being light-headed

A death grip on the glass

Russ's wife Sandy is part of the, um, supporting cast.

I suppose we need something funny to lighten the load – –

(as written by children—misspellings and all)

~ It was a miracle when Jesus rose from the dead and managed to get the tombstone off the entrance.

~ The people who followed the Lord were called the decibels.

~ The epistels were the wives of the apostles

~ One of the oppossums was St. Matthew who was also a taximan.

~ St. Paul cavorted to Christianity. He preached holy acrimony which is another name for marraige.

~ Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony.

  1. Great display! I found the rat to be the creepiest thing, only 'cause it seemed most plausible. (Totally squeamish around rats.)
