We are in San Francisco, and we are looking up California Street
where the '...little cable cars climb halfway to the stars'
We are back in San Francisco, an that is curvy Lombard Street.
I've driven it many times, and yes, it is one way from top to bottom.
A man, followed by his very large ostrich, walk into a restaurant for lunch. “What will you have, sir,” asks the waitress. “I’ll have a cheeseburger and a large coke,” he answers. “And your friend’?” The ostrich says, “I’ll have the same.” They have their lunch, and when the waitress brings the check, the fellow reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact amount, tip included.
About a week later the fellow and ostrich return to the same restaurant for lunch. This time he orders the Chef’s Special and coffee, and the ostrich says it will have the same. Again, when the waitress brings the check, the fellow reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact amount, tip included.
Several days later the fellow and ostrich return once again to the restaurant for lunch. This time the fellow orders a grilled ham and cheese and a chocolate milkshake. The ostrich says it will have the same. And once again, when he gets the check, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact amount, tip included. “Excuse me,” says the waitress, “I don’t mean to be nosy, but now that is the third time that when I’ve given you the check, you’ve had the exact amount in your pocket. How do you do that?”
“Well, that’s quite an interesting story,” responds the fellow. “I was walking along the beach one day when I tripped over a metal pot of some kind. There was a big cloud, and a genie appeared, and said I could have two wishes. So I wished that I would always have the right amount of money in my pocket whenever I needed to pay a bill.”
“Well that would explain that. But what was your second wish?” she asks.
“Oh, that,” he says. “I asked for a chick with long legs.”
