MISCELLANEOUS

FINALLY! Today is an absolutely gorgeous day! Temps in the high 60’s or low 70’s, light breeze, kids playing in the park across the street. Went for a ride on my scooter. Great!

***
Some people I know talk about squirrels. Well, I jabber on about birds -- one particular bird, actually. One cockatiel named Pepper. Smart cookie.

Example 1 - She has learned that it is difficult for me to bend down, so now when I’m headed from the dining room table back to the den, she runs up her ladder so I can reach her and put her up on my walker.

Example 2 - Her wings are clipped (so she won’t fly away), but she’s pretty good at jumping. So when she rides back with me to the bedroom where I do my daily exercises, she likes to jump from the top of the walker onto the dresser, and then sit on one of the many framed photos residing thereon. And that she can poop thereon. So this morning I put her lower down on the walker, but she climbed right back up and jumped over to the dresser -- and onto a photo.

“Pepper, get down from there.” She looked at me. “Come on, get down.” She climbed down. “Now get over here where you belong,” says I pointing to the walker. So she ambled over the edge of the dresser, and jumped over to the top of the walker. “Good bird!”

* Gone crazy. Back soon.

* When a man marries a woman, they become one, but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

* If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never turn into an old nag.

* On anniversaries, the wise husband always forgets the past--but never the present.

* Many girls like to marry a military man; he can cook, sew, and make beds and is in good health--and he's already used to taking orders.
