The Monterey Bay Aquarium proudly presents the first penguin born at the facility.  Note the soft gloves used to hold the baby.

How Long Have You Owned a Car?

Mr. Allen Swift (Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster  from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.  He drove it up until his death last the age of 102 !  He was the oldest living owner of a car from new.  Just thought you'd like to see it.  He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death.  It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch,
dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years).  That's approximately 2000 miles per year.

Humor -

“What rank are you?” asked a visitor to an army base.  “I’m relieved to say that I’ve just been promoted from captain to major.”
“Relieved?  “Why?”
“Because my last name is Hook.”

The Tennessee Department of Revenue briefly closed a restaurant in the village of Townsend for non-payment of taxes.  The name of the eatery?  Deadbeat Pete’s.

  1. What a picture! What a car! And it looks like he parallel-parked it in a manner befitting his age.

  2. Alison, did you have to comment on his parking? HAHAHAHAHA My 18 yr old just failed her driving test so youth is probably more of an issue. Not that I'd dream of letting her drive a 1928 Rolls if I was lucky enough to own one. Obviously after 82 years Mr. Swift has learned to avoid accidents.
