Thinking of you - praying for you - and checking your blog frequently to see how you're doing. Sending you get well wishes - hope you're feeling better!
Coming over from Alison's blog to send you some more healing thoughts. I've enjoyed reading your comments and jokes over the years, and have missed your voice.
Praying... AlisonH has pointed me to your blog before, and I stop in from time to time for entertainment. I love what you share. Today, I've stopped by simply to wish you well and offer prayers.
Don, missing your little notes on Alison's blog and hoping you're feeling better soon. At least better enough for her to talk to you on the phone and report back on her blog!
Should have thought of it earlier--you might not get to see it this year, but for Cliff, if you're interested, there's an incredible exhibit of creches going on and Wednesday's the last day. Check their schedule, but I think the concert is at 7 pm. No charges for anything. http://www.christmascreche.org/
Hey Don, Glad to read from Alison's blog that you're sounding stronger. Just spotted this and sent it to a friends and thought you'd enjoy it when you have time.
Merry Christmas Don and Cliff. I hope you're feeling better and stronger and able to enjoy the holiday season - at least a little. Best wishes to you both! Still in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear friends of Don, I don't know if this is the right way to tell you, but our friend Don lost his fight with cancer on January 15th. I spoke to Cliff this evening and he told me that Don passed away last week. Cliff is working on a letter that he will be sending to Don's friends to let everyone know about the services to celebrate Don's life. I am so sorry for all of us.
I'm so sad to hear this. Don will be greatly missed - his blog, stories and humor brightened days for so many. Cliff, please know you're in my thoughts and prayers and that your dad meant a great deal to people he never met in person.
Thank you for posting, Laura. I'm sure Cliff has many details to attend to and we in the blogosphere appreciate your helping him to relay the very sad news to us. When you speak with Cliff again, please relay my condolences. Like Abby, I never met his Dad in person but I truly enjoyed his web presence. He will be missed.
I first met Don and Amalie a little over 20 years ago swimming at the CAR pool. It was such a joy to reconnect with him, and it was a week after Amalie's passing. She is missed; his voice has been greatly missed, and now Don himself. Cliff, I'm so sorry. And so grateful he had you looking after him--thank you. Wishing you all the best at this hard time.
Cliff, if you see this: I sent a card months ago and it was returned addressee unknown. Just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for your great care and empathy in taking care of Don at the end of his life. May yours be blessed as you blessed his.
One of my friends told me just now that she was channeling Don in telling me, You take care of yourself, young lady! And we both smiled at the memories, missing him.
Waiting and hoping and praying. Best wishes, Don.
